PEP GUARDIOLA has agreed to take over as Juventus manager at the end of the season, according to sensational reports in Italy.

Current boss Massimiliano Allegri looks set to leave the club at the end of the season after five years in the job.

Allegri has led them to the Serie A title in every season under his management but they are on the verge of exiting the Champions League after losing the first leg of their last-16 clash with Atletico Madrid 2-0.

And journalist Luigi Guelpa, who works for Turin-based newspaper Il Giornale, says sources have told him that Guardiola has already agreed to replace Allegri for the next four years.

Guelpa added that the same source had previously told him that Cristiano Ronaldo would move to Juve from Real Madrid last summer.

Radio CRC quote him as saying: "I’ve learned that Pep Guardiola already has reached a verbal agreement with Juventus for the next four years.

“It's the same person who told me that Ronaldo was going to Juventus."

Another Italian newspaper - Corriere della Sera - are also reporting Guardiola could well end up in Turin come the summer.

Guardiola’s Manchester City are currently top of the Premier League table and on course to retain the trophy they won last year.

They have already won the League Cup this season and are favourites to claim their first ever Champions League.

However, City currently embroiled in controversy after the Premier League and UEFA said they are investigating the club over financial fair play allegations.

Guardiola says the investigation into their spending would not taint his legacy at the club but they face the prospect of being banned from European competition.

City have denied any wrongdoing and released a statement earlier today.

"The accusation of financial irregularities is entirely false,” they said.

Guardiola added: "The club made a statement, so I can't add more than that.

"The club are open. Hopefully, it can finish as soon as possible.

"I trust a lot what the cub has done, because I know them and, hopefully they can solve it as soon as possible."

Guardiola is under contract at City until 2021, having signed a deal extension last summer.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager joined City in 2016 but failed to win a trophy in his first season in charge.

Last year he steered City to the Premier League title, smashing 100 points in the process.

He also won the EFL Cup - his first trophy in English football, which City retained this term too.

As for Allegri, he is expected to leave Juve in the summer after five years at the helm.

The Italian has twice steered Juve to the Champions League final - only to lose out both times.

He is on course for a fifth league title with Juve this season but Europe has been their aim for some time.

Guardiola joined Bayern after leaving Barcelona with the intention of making the German powerhouse into European champions.

But despite three league titles, he never managed to win that coveted Champions League crown.

He confirmed his intention to join City before the 2015/16 season was over - much to the frustration of Bayern.

In his two years at City the manager has endured more Champions League misery.

They crashed out int he last-16 stage during his first season, and last term managed just one round better before limping out.
