Tottenham could make it a double raid on Norwich this summer - with a move for defender Ben Godfrey. Jose Mourinho is already intent in bringing full-back Max Aarons to White Hart Lane in the summer in a deal potentially worth around £30million.

But Spurs have also watched the promising Godfrey, 22, several times this season, and are plotting a move for the central defender, who can also play as a defensive midfielder.

The problem could though be that the Canaries value Godfrey at around £50million – but Tottenham are prepared to give Mourinho money this summer as the begins the reshaping of his team with a defensive shake up.

Arsenal are also interested in Godfrey, who has made 18 appearances for Norwich this season, as are Borussia Dortmund and Lyon.

Norwich signed Godfrey from York in 2016, and the National League North Club would be entitled to 10 per cent of any deal struggling Norwich, who are bottom of the Premier League and face runaway leaders Liverpool at Carrow Road tomorrow, can negotiate.

The Canaries youngster became the first Premier League player to be sent off with the aid of the official consulting a television screen when he was dismissed in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth – but he is available again after suspension tomorrow.

Express Sport exclusively revealed earlier this week that Mourinho is planning a £120m overhaul of his defence.

The Spurs manager has targeted Benfica’s Portugal international Ruben Dias as one of the top class centre-backs he wants – and Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake is another target.

Mourinho has shrugged off suggestions he regrets taking on the job at Tottenham.

He said: “Contrary to some people who tell things that are not true - I am really happy at the club.

"I am really happy. Is the job difficult? Yes, but if it was not difficult it wouldn't be for me.

"I like the players and who they are. I like very much the relationship I have with them. If you see a bad face from me it is because of a bad result. I cannot change myself.

"That's just me. The reality is that I am happy and I look forward to what is coming, and even more for what is coming next season. I want to start working with them in July.”
