Cristiano Ronaldo's positive message after testing positive for COVID-19

Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Turin after testing positive for COVID-19 whilst on international duty with Portugal, and he has an optimistic message for his followers on social media.

The Juventus forward has opted to return to Italy, rather than stay in Portugal, for his quarantine period as there is a difference between the two countries in this regard; in Italy he will only have to self-isolate for 10 days, while in Portugal it is two weeks.

The reason for this is that Cristiano wants to speed up his chances of playing in Juventus' Champions League clash against Barcelona on October 28, which he believes he will be back in time for.

In order to keep his social media followers informed of his current state, the 35-year-old posted a photo on Instagram of himself chilling by a private pool.

"Don't let what you can't do get in the way of what you can do," Cristiano wrote as the caption in Portuguese.

Cristiano has started the 2020/21 season in good form, having scored three goals in two Serie A games for Juventus.

It is expected that he will miss the Bianconeri's next three fixtures, which include a trip to Crotone in the league, their Champions League group-stage opener away at Dynamo Kyiv, and then the Serie A meeting with Hellas Verona at the Juventus Stadium.

Then, three days after the Hellas Verona match, Juventus will face Barcelona in Turin.

This will be the first time that Cristiano has come up against Barcelona and Lionel Messi since departing Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, having spent the previous nine seasons battling with the Catalan club and their Argentinian superstar.

Since joining Juventus, Cristiano has played in a total of 91 games and has scored 68 goals, while he has also provided 18 assists.
